The dark ruby colored 2011 Pinot Noir Malans Unique is deep and intense on the sweet and finely toasty, substantial and spicy nose. Full-bodied, pure and fresh on the palate, this is a round and intense, deep and more tannic red yet with silky-textured fruit and remarkable vivacious acidity for this warm vintage. This is a powerful and pithy, taut and even a little astringent Pinot that, in the end, is not from a perfect bottle. Magnum 93+/100 (06.2022)
The 2011 Pinot Noir Unique is generous but super pure, fine and elegant on the nose that is very deep, spicy and beautifully complex. It is juicy, refined and elegant on the palate, with great elegance, finesse and mineral tension. The tannins are so ripe, fine and grippy, and the wine is firm and fresh, with so much elegance, intensity and vitality. 95/100 (11.2018)
