The Brovia Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2015 (the last wine I tasted in this series of cru expressions) opens to the darkest color of this series, with a firm core of black fruit. This wine is silky and satiny in terms of texture—one of the trademarks of this sandy-soil cru in Castiglione Falletto—but don't underestimate that structural firmness that holds it tightly together.
