Discover the Lagrein Riserva "Gran Helen," a particularly high-quality red wine from South Tyrol. Grown in a unique single vineyard at the southern end of the Eisack Valley, near Bolzano, this wine impressively embodies the interplay of soil, microclimate, and traditional craftsmanship.


The Lagrein grape, an indigenous South Tyrolean specialty, shows its full potential here: small, concentrated berries provide a deep, dark color and intense aromas. The vineyard soil consists of clay-rich moraine debris, which warms during the day and releases stored heat at night. A constant airflow from the Eisack Valley adds extra freshness to the vines – ideal conditions for slow, even ripening.


Twelve months of aging in French barriques and tonneaux give the wine structure, elegance, and subtle spice. In the glass, the Fliederhof - Gran Helene 2019 reveals complex notes of dark berries, violets, toasted aromas, and delicate spices. The tannin structure is silky and well-integrated – a powerful yet elegant red wine with aging potential.


The designation "Gran" signifies the highest quality – this Lagrein is made exclusively from the best grapes of the vintage. It is named after Helene “Helen” Ramoser, a woman with a strong commitment to quality, who in 1995 laid the foundation for this special wine by purchasing two barrique barrels.
