The Batzella Bolgheri Rosso Peàn 2023 is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The grapes are fermented separately and then aged for 12 months in barriques and tonneaux. The Peàn presents intense dark fruit aromas of plums, blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, complemented by notes of sweet spices, tobacco, and a subtly bitter nuance on the finish. The texture is soft and smooth, supported by fine, chalky tannins that give the wine a clear structure. Despite the rather hot vintage, the Peàn remains surprisingly balanced, fresh, and approachable, with a well-achieved harmony of concentration and elegance. The Bolgheri Rosso Peàn offers excellent value for money and is produced annually in quantities of around 18,000 to 20,000 bottles.
