Tasting notes
Based on three-year-old and 20-year-old vines (burgundy clones) that were cultivated in a cooler area and picked at 92° to 93° Oechsle, Thomas Studach's 2022 Malanser Chardonnay shows a coolish, clear, fresh and elegant nose with stony/clayish and fruity aromas of ripe yellow fruits and citrus nuances. This is already an excellent expression of the Malans terroir! Dense, juicy and elegant on the slightly yeasty palate, this is a firmly structured Chardonnay with filigreed acidity and delicate tannins. The finish is seriously mineral and structured and represents a deep and layered Malanser that is ripe, elegant and balanced, showing class and style. 95/100 (03.2024) - robertparker.com
