It comes exclusively from the estate’s best vineyards, the renowned Cru site Contrada Montalbo, whose pure limestone soils provide ideal conditions for long-lived, complex red wines.


Produced only in exceptional vintages – such as 2009 – this great red wine impressively demonstrates Sicily’s full potential. The year was marked by hot summer days and strong temperature variations between day and night, allowing for perfect ripeness of tannins and polyphenols.


In the glass, the Duca di Montalbo 2009 reveals a deep, intense ruby red with violet reflections. On the nose, it unfolds a complex and elegant bouquet of fresh dark fruits such as blackberry, raspberry, and ripe plum, harmoniously blending with fine herbal notes of rosemary and thyme, complemented by a subtle, refined spiciness. On the palate, the Duca di Montalbo is powerful, concentrated, yet silky. The tannins are of outstanding quality - soft, velvety, and perfectly integrated.
