The traditional Veronese grape varieties Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara are carefully selected from the finest hillside vineyards. After harvest, the grapes are stored throughout the winter months on special bamboo racks in well-ventilated drying rooms – a process known as the "Appassimento" method. During this time, they lose a significant portion of their water content, resulting in an intense concentration of aromas and sugars. The result is an aromatic, fruit-forward sweet wine with elegant richness and a remarkable balance of structure, alcohol, and residual sweetness.
In the glass, the Masi - Angelorum (Recioto della Valpolicella) 2013 displays a deep, impenetrable ruby red color. On the nose, intense aromas of cherry compote and preserved dark fruits unfold, accompanied by a hint of alcoholic spice. On the palate, it is complex and well-balanced, with a fascinating interplay of fine sweetness and vibrant acidity. The mouthfeel is full and smooth, and the finish is long-lasting and aromatically layered.
The Masi - Angelorum (Recioto della Valpolicella) 2013 pairs excellently with rustic fruit-based desserts, crostata, pandoro, or other dry pastries. It also reveals its full potential when enjoyed with Gorgonzola.
