From vines planted in 1999 on shallow Bündner slate soil, the 2018 Riesling shows an intense nose with a fascinating pure and flinty bouquet of crushed stones and lemon juice. Round and very elegant on the palate, this is a dry (since the 2013 vintage) and textured Riesling with great finesse and sustainably stimulating salinity on the long and impressive finish. The wine was aged on the full lees for one year, without any movements. The 2018 is a gorgeous Riesling that shows nothing of what you might have expected from this very warm and dry vintage. This is ripe, refined and enormously vital due to its great terroir. 95/100 (03.2022)

The 2018 Riesling represents the warm vintage with very clean and precise, almost Mediterranean lemon fruit intermingled with notes of laurel, white peach, apricot kernel and crushed stones. It's concentrated but juicy and elegant. The wine is crystal clear, remarkably finessed and rather light on the palate, with less texture than the wines from 2019 to 2021 but with fine, ripe acidity and a clear and cleansing, stimulating saline finish. This is a remarkably light and filigreed Riesling that is already very stimulating due to its purity and salinity, yet it is less dense and complex than the 2019. 93/100 (03.2024)
