The lemon-colored 2020 Chardonnay is pure and flinty on the nose that combines several worlds: a cool climate with warm, rich and generous fruit with the discretion of a slate Riesling. Ripe fruit aromas intermingle with lemon yet also finely tannic notes. On the palate, this is a rich, lush, refined and elegant yet also powerful Chardonnay with hedonistic fruit, fine sur lie bitters and ripe, finely grained acidity. Bottled in early March this year, the 2020 Chardonnay is pure and fresh on the stony, very intense and concentrated nose. Still very young, fruity and aromatic, the 2020 intermingles lemon and mirabelle aromas with sur lie and vanilla notes. Silky, enormously salty and pure on the palate yet also with body and intensity, this is a rich and tightly structured, not massive but enormously complex and promising Chardonnay that might tun out as one of the finest. 96+/100 (03.2022) - robertparker.com
