Tasting notes
From another very warm vintage but with more finesse and elegance in the wines compared to 2013 or 2009, the 2015 Pinot Noir Malans Unique brings fruit and terroir aromas to a new dimension. The wine opens pure and flinty on the rather coolish nose that is fresh, slatey and spicy, with iodine notes. Tight and fresh on the palate, this is a silky, concentrated and spicy, subtly intense and spectacularly sustainable Pinot Noir with great aging potential. The combination of intensity and roundness (or fruit sweetness) with energy, elegance and tight but refined and spicy tannins is indeed unique here. Impressive length and intensity. Another great Swiss Pinot Noir! Magnum 95/100 (06.2022) - robertparker.com
The 2015 Pinot Noir Unique is deep, pure and toasty/spicy/slatey on the noble and refined nose. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, round, enormously juicy and generous yet fine and elegant Pinot with very fine, juicy tannins and crunchy slate grip on the finish. This wine is intense and elegant, with ripe and mellow tannins and a long, salty finish. This great Pinot is still a baby, but with its lush purity, it is a great future wine. 94/100 (02.2019)
