The intensely citrus-yellow colored 2014 Chardonnay Malans Unique opens like a classic: coolish, fresh and elegant, with ripe, bright and concentrated citrus fruit aromas intertwined with aromatic herbal and also stony notes that characterize the nose. On the palate, this is a concentrated, dense and juicy Chardonnay with ripe but vivacious acidity, fine grip and apple juice as well as green lemon-tea aromas on the long, finely bitter and saline finish that has pronounced tannins and citrus fruit and zest notes on the aftertaste.
