The dark ruby-red 2020 Churer Blauburgunder Gian-Battista was sourced from vines planted in 1974 and 1983 and aged in 50% new barriques for 30 months. The wine shows a deep, pure, intense and remarkably refined bouquet of dark fruits, dried and potted plums, spices and dates. Silky and lush on the refined and elegant palate, this full-bodied but fresh Pinot reveals soft tannins and coconut chocolate notes on the intense and expansive finish. This is, as always, a unique style of Pinot Noir of which, one day, a vertical could show its real class. 14% stated alcohol. 94/100 (05.2024) - Wine Advocate
