The Möhr-Niggli / Gubler Pinot Noir Pilgrim comes from the oldest Pinot Noir vineyards around Maienfeld, with vines aged between 30 and 50 years, exclusively from Swiss clones. The vineyards sit at 550 to 600 meters above sea level, allowing for extended ripening on the vine and elegant freshness in the wine.
The grapes are carefully hand-harvested and sorted, with part fermented as whole clusters in large wooden vats. Aging follows for 14 to 20 months on the fine lees in barriques.
The Pinot Noir Pilgrim impresses with a delicate and complex aromatic profile, featuring fruity notes of cherries and dark berries, complemented by subtle spicy and floral nuances. On the palate, it is full-bodied, round, and elegant, with a silky texture, balanced freshness, and a juicy, slightly saline finish. The tannins are present, robust, and harmoniously integrated.
The Pilgrim from Möhr-Niggli / Gubler is a classic, well-structured Graubünden Pinot Noir that can develop beautifully over 10 to 15 years.
