It has been quite a few years since I last tasted the 1982 Dom Pérignon Rosé, especially the original release. This bottle, one of the best I have ever had, proves that provenance and storage are everything. Immediately captivating, the 1982 soars from the glass with the most exquisite bouquet imaginable. A rush of silky, red-fleshed fruit follows. The 1982 is at once gentle and dynamic, providing endless contrasts that are fascinating to follow. Like all great Champagnes, it continues to open beautifully in the glass, revealing myriad shades of its complex personality with each taste. In the past, I have often found the 1982 to be on the decline. This bottle is a rare exception. Even so, I would not push my luck on further cellaring, as there is not much more to be gained. Superb. 95/100 (06.2023) - Vinous
