Tasting notes
The 2019 Wittnau Büel is pure and intense on the seamless, pure, refined, elegant and substantial nose that reveals citrus and mirabelle aromas. Rich and round on the palate, the 2019 Büel is concentrated, fleshy and elegant, yet it didn't ferment to fully dry and stopped at 2.5 grams per liter of residual sugar, a (palatable) result of the natural fermentation. This is a remarkable Chardonnay from Wittnau in the Aargau canton that Litwan couldn't have made any better. The wine is structured, intense, very long and absolutely unique. I'd keep it for 5-10 years to let the sweetness become better integrated. The wine was aged on the full lees in 228-liter pièces for a year. 92/100 (02.2022) - robertparker.com
