Tasted at the UGC in London. I will agree with fellow scribe Simon Wood's comment that the Cabernet Franc lends this a Loire, a Bourgeuil like nose that is different, but attractive. The palate has a sweet ripe, almost savoury entry, smooth mid-palate, touches of dark chocolate inflecting the ripe black fruit, with a sappy finish. This du Tertre has character! Good effort. 88/100 (05.2010)

A blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 18% Cabernet Franc. This has a much riper nose than Chateau Giscours with blackberries, raspberries and graphite. Perhaps it just lacks a little delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, quite chewy tannins, moderate fruit concentration with tobacco and cedar coming through on the finish. A little disjointed, but it has the right components to improve significantly by bottling. Good weight on the finish. 88-90/100 (04.2008)
